Sylvain Chollet occupies one of the eighteen stands of the Records, Comics, CDs and DVDs Festival, which took place on Sunday 13 November, at the Montluçon exhibition center.
This 51-year-old Berruyer is participating in the event for the fourth time as an exhibitor. “But I’ve known him much longer as a bargain hunter! Because Sylvain Chollet has been a collector since he was 15, of vinyl records and “essentially in film soundtracks. But conventions are a bit complicated, so I’ve opened up to DVDs, CDs, especially in the French universe”.
Impossible for him to say the number of objects that make up his “his important personal collection”:
I live in an F2 and there is no more space. I had to store the videos in the garage.
His Bourbon days had paid off before noon. “Two or three customers bought multiple things at the same time. But from show to show, it’s never the same. It’s very random. In Indre, for example, I don’t sell. And it is in Blois that I look my best. Montluçon is right. »
Visitors present before opening
The 16th edition of the festival is back after two years of absence related to the Covid-19. And there was obviously a wait. When Philippe Gerbaud, organizer of the event, arrived in the morning, some visitors were waiting outside the door. “I let people in at 9:45 instead of 10,” slips the independent record store, owner of Phil Records, rue des Serruriers.Photo Florian Salesse
Three hundred and twenty people rummaged through the ninety-three linear meters of goods, mostly presented by insiders. Philippe Gerbaud comments: “I’m half satisfied. Attendance is decreasing year by year, but the size of the city is also decreasing. This is a generally satisfactory result for exhibitors. Some missed it anyway: there wasn’t enough audience compared to the offer. It’s positive all the same. »
