On this Wednesday, about fifteen people pushed the door of the multigenerational room of the Welcome residence, located in the Verrerie district. The afternoon is devoted to board games, one of the activities set up by Montluçon Habitat with its partners, including the MJC.
For Adrien, who lives in the Domitys residence, this is a great first. Accompanied by Inès, he tackles… chrominos after having tried another board game, the triominos, and a classic of the genre, the Connect 4.
The association of the Little Brothers of the Poor suggested that I come here with another lady.

“People are really very friendly and you can also eat pancakes,” rejoices the sixty-year-old.
A table further, Madeleine, Monique, Claude and Jean-Pierre have engaged in a foursome tarot. “We are all three from the same neighborhood,” emphasizes Jean-Pierre, pointing to Monique and Claude. Madeleine is the little news.
The fourth
“They managed to decide me. Jean-Pierre had told me that they lacked a fourth”, explains this regular of the room, more inclined to practice computers and gentle gymnastics.
In the back of the room, while Jean-Pierre Hurtaud, vice-president of Montluçon Habitat, details, map in support, the new developments in the district, Colette, Françoise, Yvette and Dominique type the “cardboard”. The grandson of the latter, Charly, is also in the game.

“Usually, I don’t have it with me,” comments the grandmother. I asked his mother if I could take him here and teach him to play belote. She said yes “. Colette, she discovered the multigenerational room thanks to “a little lady”. “I think it’s great. There are ages when it’s hard to make friends. Rather than staying alone at home, it makes me have a good time”.
This Wednesday, we ate pancakes to the delight of the players.
A feeling shared by Madeleine and Aline who compete in a game of… tantrix. “We don’t know this game but it works the brain”, laughs Madeleine who shares the gym activity with her girlfriend since 1998. “The lady who takes care of the room, I saw her as a kid” , she warns.
A good start
Present this Wednesday, in the company of Frédéric Laporte, president of Montluçon Habitat, the director of the office, Roselyne Vavra observes all the benefits of the new structure put in place in September 2021. “There are people who meet on Sunday at one or the other to play cards. We have thirty-five people who come regularly, it’s a good start”.
