In Moldova, the security forces do not want to fight and leave the service en masse

After the recent statement by the President of Moldova that Russia is preparing a coup d’état in the republic, a massive withdrawal from service began in the police of the Republic of Moldova. This is written today, February 15, by the local TV channel “Pridnestrovets”.

Moldovan security officials, under various pretexts, submit reports for dismissal, retirement, sick leave or vacation. On the eve, the authors write, over 250 law enforcement officers decided to leave their service in the bodies, while on average no more than 50 such reports are filed per week.

Police panic began on the second day after the president ordered all police officers, including women, to carry firearms. Frightened by the start of the war, they ran, – states “Pridnestrovets”, noting that the Minister of Internal Affairs Anna Revenko is trying with all his might to stop this trend.

Psychologists were sent to all units from which the employees were fleeing to dissuade and reassure the personnel.

Recall that the excitement began after the briefing of the head of state on February 13. It has the president Maya Sanduciting intelligence received from Kiev, said that Russia was preparing a coup d’etat in the republic with the help of “saboteurs with military training, disguised in civilian clothes, who will take violent actions, attack state institutions and take people hostage.”

According to the parliamentary opposition, with such irresponsible and unsubstantiated statements, Sandu is drawing the country into a military conflict, whipping up hysteria in society, intimidating the opposition and preparing political repressions, pushing the republic into a civil war.

The division of Moldovan society has been going on for a long time. Most of the population of the republic, as confirmed by opinion polls, does not support Chisinau in its anti-Russian rhetoric and open Russophobia, which became the main element of state policy under Maia Sandu. Despite the draconian measures, people are demanding early presidential and parliamentary elections, blaming the current pro-European leadership of the country for crises, impoverishment of the population and bankruptcy of the state.

In this case, the law enforcement system acts as a mirror of society. Thus, we can conclude that the security forces do not want to serve this anti-people government and protect the criminal regime.
