In Maubourguet, bridge has its own festival with the Val-d’Adour club

The Val d’Adour bridge club, in Maubourguet, has 25 members who regularly play this game, and this Wednesday, November 29, a tournament took place which brought together 11 teams, or 44 players, from the department, but also from Gers , Haute-Garonne and Landes, with some big names in the discipline, among the 100 best French people.

For Jean-Michel Dubertrand, the president: “It’s a big tournament all the same, it’s very good for a small village like Maubourguet, we do one every last Wednesday of each month, it’s true that we is numerous, 11 tables of 4, and that represents approximately 4 hours of play.”

“In principle,” he tells us, “we eat there and then we start the game. You need a quiet and sufficiently large room, and above all free all afternoon. »

This is the first time that the tournament has been held at the Aigue-Marine residence in Maubourguet, an establishment inaugurated just a year ago, and all the participants do not regret this choice, a warm welcome with a meal of great flavor and attentive service, with Florence and Bahija at the helm.

At the 4-hour break, Sylvie Dubertrand, director of the establishment and Meriem Bouda, delegate to associations for the town hall, came to pay them a little friendly visit, thanking them for having chosen the residence for the occasion.

For the record, here are the results of this tournament: for the North-South line, 1st Ageriès Rolland and Dubertrand Jean-Michel, with 68.81%, 2nd Soubirant Guy and Fraisse Gilbert, with 61.11%, 3rd Demontleau Béatrix and Demontleau Antoine, 58.56%.

For the East-West line, 1st Giterret Evelyne and Thomson David, 59.49%, second tied, Barats George-Huart Cécile and Barats Geneviève-Cardonne Alain with 56.25%.
