For several days, cars have been gathering around the roundabout and avenue de Bonneveinein the southern districts of Marseille (8th), at peak times.
This Tuesday, June 13, 2023 in the morning, the situation was once again untenable, with many traffic jams on this axis being known as the one giving access to the Borély area. Here’s why.
Obstacle course
In recent days, this has annoyed motorists and those who use public transport.
In Marseille, passing the Bonneveine roundabout has become an obstacle course. This Tuesday morning, the cup was still full: cars, scooters and buses formed monstrous traffic jams in the sector and this had repercussions on the neighboring axes.
A large part of avenue Pierre Mendes-France and Clos Bey, still in the 8th, were indeed blocked.
fiber work
In question, work carried out by the company Joubeaux Travaux Publics on the avenue de Bonneveine, near Pointe-Rouge.
The goal ? Install the fiber in the neighborhood, which gives rise to holes dug under the tar and therefore to major traffic disruptions. This reduces to a way access to motorists between Espace Borély and the famous roundabout and therefore causes a huge panic.
