In Marseille, 200 pets were cared for in the day “Risaralda Take Care With Love”

Marseille, October 18, 2024. The Government of Risaralda, through its strategy “Risaralda Takes Care With Love”, continues to support animal welfare throughout the department.
On this occasion, 200 pets, including canines and felines, were cared for in a successful day held in the main park of the municipality of Marseille.
This activity is aligned with Ordinance 021 of 2020, which seeks to guarantee the health and well-being of animals, especially those in rural and remote areas.
During the day, vaccination, deworming, vitamin application and veterinary medical evaluations were offered, all free of charge.
Gloria Amparo Restrepo Ramírez, a resident of Marseille, thanked all the institutions involved: “Thank you very much to the Government for giving us this gift, thank you for everything you do for Marseille and for our pets.”
Jaime Ordóñez, veterinary doctor of the Government Secretariat, highlighted the departmental government’s commitment to animal welfare:
“We are carrying out the animal welfare campaign under the directive of our governor Juan Diego Patiño. We are here performing deworming, application of vitamins, rabies vaccine, canine quintuple and feline triple. We cared for around 200 animals, including kittens and puppies from the municipality.”
Likewise, he invited the entire Rirasaldense community to participate in these animal welfare campaigns, which will be in all the municipalities of the department.
The Government of Risaralda, under its motto “Equitable and Inclusive”, reaffirms its commitment to continue working for animal welfare and responsible ownership, through coordination with different entities and holding periodic conferences throughout the department.
