“In many companies there is a need for subsequent improvement” – SWR Aktuell

Federal Labor Minister Hubertus Heil (SPD) wants to enforce compulsory corona testing for companies across Germany. Martin Gross, the regional head of the service union Verdi Baden-Württemberg, would support this. He said in SWR Aktuell that, according to his experience, around 40 percent of the companies do not offer their employees any corona tests: “The tests are particularly inadequate in service industries. Especially where subcontractors are used.” The reason is a lack of willingness. “Wherever works contract structures are used, this responsibility is not taken on, but pushed off.” Verdi official Gross also sees room for improvement in retail: some companies are exemplary. “But there are also companies where very little is tested.” That would mainly affect smaller companies, said Gross in an interview with SWR Aktuell presenter Alina Braun.
