The actors of home help in the Rhône announced the creation of their union on March 8th. The objective: to fight against isolation, defend their rights and bring their claims to fruition.
Auxiliaries, home helps, caregivers, and even administrative. The home help staff is organized under the aegis of a union, CGT home help 69, from Tuesday, March 8. A date that “is no coincidence“, explains the – soon – new Rhone union. Like every March 8, the day will be devoted to women’s rights, even though the sector of home help staff is 95% female.
“The forgotten of Ségur“
Among the many issues raised by the collective, “low wages, imposed part-times, ridiculous compensation for travel expenses or even unrealizable schedules“. Thus, the “forgotten by Ségur“claim”a general wage increase, payment of all trips, the improvement of working conditions, hiring or training”.
A general founding meeting is organized at the Lyon Labor Exchange on March 8. Upstream, the participants are invited by the collective to meet at 3:40 p.m. the same day at the Rhône Prefecture.
