A person died in a road traffic accident in Ludza region on Friday, the Public Relations Department of the State Police informed LETA.
The accident occurred at 11.44 in Rundēni Parish, Ludza District. According to preliminary information, the driver, while driving a VW Transporter minibus, ran into a man lying on the road who died at the scene of his injuries. However, the police still explain the exact circumstances of what happened.
In the past day, a total of 98 road accidents have been registered in the country, in which 24 people have been injured, including seven pedestrians and four cyclists. Most people – 24 – were injured in accidents in the Riga region, according to information gathered by the police.
