In love with dialogue – El Periódico Mediterráneo

The extinct Democratic and Social Center (CDS), led by President Adolfo Suarez Gonzalezdevised in the second half of the 1980s a slogan, in love with dialogue, which he captured in badges, stickers and other marketing elements. In the midst of the political polarization and recurring clashes between the PSOE and the AP, which was causing enormous tension in Spanish society, the centrists tried to highlight the need for dialogue to find meeting points between differences and consensus for the benefit of the citizenry.

We centrists –really, those of us who say we are but also practice it– continue to believe in the need to find what unites us, to dialogue until we can no longer, to try to reach agreements by broad majorities… And we do so convinced that that this type of understanding and exercising politics are much better than those typical of eternally confronted environments, tense and reigned by hatred of those who are different.

be consistent

In Nules, where we govern, we try to be consistent with our way of thinking. We have shown that we have a hand outstretched to all the political groups with the aim of improving the municipality. Last week we joined two groups in the agreement to invest the remaining cash for Nules. The PP, which in our town only knows how to govern with the roller of absolute majorities and is not capable of adding with others, has criticized the agreements reached. Those who were invited and declined to participate, by the way. And we take pride in those reviews. Well, effectively, we are people who seek agreement with the other, to agree, agree, agree… and dialogue. Because we centrists, yes, we are lovers of dialogue.
