In a viralized video on social networks, a new case of false inoculation against COVID-19 was evidenced in Ecuador. The event was recorded on Tuesday afternoon at the Víctor Manuel Rendón educational unit, one of the immunization points of the Valencia canton, Los Ríos province.
A young university student came to this campus to receive the first dose of the vaccine. In the video, filmed by his mother, it is observed that the nurse pricks the patient’s right arm, but does not apply the dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
Right away, his parents claimed the fact. A health official from that district tried to justify the actions of the nurse. Later, at the insistence of the parents, the dose was applied to the young man.
“Apparently it was a supposed human error, which must be understood, since sometimes the workload causes these situations. We do not want the team to be pointed out, when they have really done a good job in the Vaccination Plan in this District, the investigation of the case is carried out to find out what happened, ”said Jamell Bermello, district director of Health.
In a bulletin, the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) explained that the citizen was not inoculated, in the first instance, “due to problems with the syringe used.”
