If you want to buy alcohol on New Year’s Eve, organize an undeclared musical gathering of the rave type or even transport fuel in a canister, the prefect of Loire-Atlantique has banned this period. Here is the detail.

In an ordinance dated December 21, 2022prefect of Loire-Atlantique “has taken preventive measures, in consultation with the public prosecutors of Nantes and Saint-Nazaire, so that Christmas and New Year’s celebrations take place in complete safety, without risk to the inhabitants”.
In particular, this decree provides for the prohibition of undeclared festive gatherings and the circulation of vehicles used for the transport of equipment likely to be used for this type of gathering. It applies from 23 December 2022 at 8:00 to 26 December 2022 at 12:00 and from 30 December 2022 (8:00) to 2 January 2023 (12:00).
The take-away sale of alcoholic beverages will also be prohibited on New Year’s Eve, from 24 December 2022 at 21:00 to 25 December 2022 at 8:00 and from 31 December 2022 (21:00) to 1 January 2023 (8 in the morning .).
The purchase and retail sale, removal and transport of fuel (cans) are also prohibited from 8:00 on 23 December 2022 to 8:00 on 26 December 2022 and from 8:00 on 30 December 2022 (8:00 am) to January 2, 2023 (8 am.).
In the municipalities of Nantes Métropole and in those of the Saint-Nazaire region, “the purchase, sale, carriage and use of fireworks and pyrotechnic articles of certain categories” are prohibited during the end of year holidays, i.e. from 23 December 2022 at 8:00 to 2 January at 8:00
