Wind farm “Vējo galia” (“Wind energy”), located in Mažeikių r. In the village of Židiku, the total installed capacity is 63 MW, of which 4.5 MW will be leased to domestic customers. In total, around 1,000 household electricity consumers will be able to rent a part of the fleet of wind generators with a capacity of up to 5 kW to provide the necessary electricity.
The 4.5 MW wind turbine park, developed by a subsidiary of Ignitis Renewables, will be offered to leased customers, meaning anyone can rent part of the equipment and generate electricity. A rental fee of approximately € 36 / kW per month will be paid by domestic customers to the wind farm manager, while the electricity produced by the wind farm will be converted into monetary value according to the conditions agreed with the supplier and accumulated in the supply account. of the customer. The customer will continue to purchase all the electricity needed by the supplier according to the chosen plan at the agreed prices and his electricity bill will be covered by the value of the energy produced by the rented part of the wind farm. After the lease agreement has expired or if the consumer terminates the supply agreement with the supplier, the accumulated value of the electricity is paid to the consumer under the terms of the agreement. And if the value of the energy produced in the current month is greater than the energy bill, the residual value will be accumulated to cover future bills.
The possibility of renting part of the wind farm is another alternative for those who currently do not have the money to invest, for example, in the production of solar energy.
The wind farm is already under construction and some of the 14 planned plants have already been built. Customers renting part of the plant are expected to start producing electricity in the second half of 2023.
