In Lithuania, at a wedding ceremony, an unusual ritual is performed

A Lithuanian young couple has received special attention in social networks, and both newlyweds and guests got tattoos at their wedding ceremony, writes the portal “The Insider”.

Kotrjina Nauseda, a 28-year-old medical specialist, married Artur Nauseda (31) in a ceremony on June 3. The couple, who live in Lithuania, have been together for six years.

The bride planned to wear a Dior-inspired white dress to her wedding, but changed her mind just one day before walking down the aisle.

“While preparing for the big day and communicating with the holistic wedding master of ceremonies, we received an offer to perform a ritual that would give meaning to our union,” said Kotryna. “The presented ideas seemed too banal, so we offered our own.”

Catherine and Arthur tattooed each other symbols specific to themselves and their relationship.

“We both have a lot of tattoos and art is close to our hearts, so the idea of tattooing each other with the symbol came very quickly and naturally,” she said. “Arthur and I originally tattooed each other the symbol ‘222’, which represents union in both the Bible and numerology, and because we officially became husband and wife on June 2nd.

Kotryna added that the guests were also tattooed at the ceremony. “Many friends, even those who didn’t have any tattoos, tattooed two dots at our wedding. Artur and I did the most tattoos,” she said.

Catherine shared footage from their wedding on TikTok, where it went viral with more than 996,000 views.
