After the crazy price increase, the representative of fuel distributors in Lebanon, Fadi Abu Chakra, said that “the percentage of fuel sales in Lebanon has decreased from 40 to 45% during this month, and this percentage includes the sale of petrol and diesel. “
Abu Shakra believed that the reason is “high fuel prices in Lebanon, which have reached unprecedented numbers, which have affected citizens’ ability to buy petrol and diesel”.
He underlined, in an interview with the press today, Thursday, that “the global price of the barrel has decreased, but we in Lebanon do not feel this decrease due to the parallel increase in the price of the dollar”.
He denied “there is any price manipulation, in response to reports that the price of a barrel in Lebanon is $100, while it is $88 globally.” He predicted that soon, if oil prices continue to fall globally, we will see a significant decline, but he also linked this to the stability of the dollar price in Lebanon.
