In Latvia, Covid-19 has been approved for 11 more people

Riga, Sept. 11, LETA. Last day, 2445 Covid-19 tests recorded 11 new cases, according to data collected by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control.

According to the information available to the SPKC, six patients have come from abroad – France, Norway and Russia, including four members of the hockey team “Neftehimik” in Nizhny Novgorod. Three patients are contact persons, but the conditions of infection are still being clarified for two people.

The representative of the center Ilze Arāja told LETA that, contrary to what was reported by the Continental Hockey League, the SPKC has information about four, instead of seven, ill members of the Nizhnekamsk team “Neftehimik”.

To date, a total of 274,826 Covid-19 examinations have been performed in Latvia, 1,459 persons have become ill and 1,248 have recovered, but 35 have died.

One patient with Covid-19 was hospitalized during the last 24 hours. In total, ten patients are treated in hospitals, all of whom have a moderate course of the disease. A total of 209 patients were discharged from the hospital, including both those who recovered and those who died.

It has been reported that after several positive Covid-19 express tests, the game of the Continental Hockey League scheduled for Friday in Riga’s Dinamo was postponed to the Neftehimik team in Nizhnekamsk. The diseases were detected on Thursday evening after arrival in Riga.

Riga “Dinamo” press secretary Jānis Stepītis told LETA on Friday that the team spent the night in the capital of Latvia, but on Friday in the first half of the day will fly to St. Petersburg.
