On the occasion of the World Day for the Right to Health, the Committee for the defense and promotion of the Lannion-Trestel hospital center and access to care in the Trégor (CoDeHSa Trégor) evokes in a press release its concerns. For years, he has “alerted the Trégorrois to the closure of beds and posts in public hospitals, but also to the lack of resources, both human and material, in nursing homes and home care services. There is a lack of beds but also and above all of human beings to manage these extreme situations. “. This committee denounces the choices of the institutions which have led to this situation. “The pandemic dramatically shows us every day the consequences of these policies carried out by the various governments”.
Financial resources claimed
In this context, he asks: “the necessary means for the public hospital, victim of reforms, budget cuts; the opening of public nursing homes with the necessary staff; the necessary financial means, instead of decades of austerity in social security and public services; the real end of the numerus clausus and the training of the professionals needed in personal assistance services, nursing homes and medico-social services ”.
This committee is also campaigning for “the end of the safe and non-medical approach to psychiatry by the government and global access to the vaccine possible quickly by the lifting of patents and the requisition of companies capable of producing them”.
