Kochi: A policeman was suspended for his association with the banned Popular Front organization. The action is against CPO Siyad from Caladi station. Ziyad had helped the Popular Front worker on Hartal’s day. Police have informed that there will be a detailed investigation into this incident.
The case was recorded at the Perumbavoor station on Hartal’s day. Perumbavoor police took three workers from the Popular Front into custody. At this stage, Ziyad, who reached the station, tried to secure bail for the accused and gave them food.
One of the PFI workers is a relative of Ziyad. Later, on the basis of checking his phone records, it was discovered that he was in constant contact with the workers of the PFI. A detailed investigation will follow.
The suspend action occurred mainly after confirmation of the PFI connection. On the day of the raid and the subsequent attack on the leaders of the PFI, several policemen were in contact with the leadership of the Popular Front. In this way, the information of 873 policemen was handed over to the state government by the National Investigative Agency (NIA).
