A conflict arose between the abductors and the victim the day before because of non-payment for the repair work performed in the apartment.

In Kiev, law enforcement officers detained four foreign citizens for the abduction of a man who owed them money. About it informs Metropolitan Department of the National Police on Wednesday, June 9.

It is indicated that the security forces received a message from a woman that at the intersection of Lobanovsky Avenue and Vuzovskaya Street, unknown persons beat the man and then dragged him into the car by force. The woman remembered the license plates, so the cops introduced a special operation in the capital to search for and detain the intruders.

“Within an hour, police officers established the direction of the offenders’ car and a patrol police squad stopped them near the North Bridge. Militiamen found out that a conflict arose between the abductors and the victim on the eve of non-payment for repair work in the apartment,” the statement said.

To solve the money issue, the men kidnapped a 32-year-old victim and tried to take him out of the city.

Four malefactors were detained. All of them are natives of another state, born in 1993-1995.

On this fact, the investigator of the Solomensky police department opened criminal proceedings under the article on unlawful imprisonment or abduction of a person (part 2 of article 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The defendants have already been informed of the suspicion. They face up to five years in prison.

Earlier in Kiev, law enforcement officers conducted special operation to free a kidnapped woman and the detention of the kidnappers. The gang consisted of four people between the ages of 23 and 32, including immigrants from other countries.

It was also reported that in Odessa a group of people illegally imprisoned a man and extorted from him a non-existent debt.
