In Kazakhstan, they talked about Tokayev’s refusal from the Russian order. The Kremlin said that the award was not planned

The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, decided not to accept either domestic or foreign awards until the end of his powers. This is reported Tengrinews.kz with reference to the presidential press service.

Earlier, Kazakh political scientist Yerbol Yedilov, citing his own sources, said that the Kremlin was going to award Tokayev with the Order of Alexander Nevsky.

“The head of state thanked for the honor,” the political scientist wrote. “However, he decided not to accept either domestic or foreign awards until the end of his presidential powers. For the same reason, during a recent visit to Bishkek, the president refused the highest Kyrgyz order “Manas “first degree”.

Tengrinews emphasizes that the press service of the President of Kazakhstan confirmed this to the publication.

At the same time, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov denied Tokayev’s refusal from the Russian order. According to him, no award was planned. “I don’t know where this information comes from, because no award was planned. There were no plans for this,” Peskov told Rise.

On June 17, Tokayev and Putin spoke at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg Economic Forum. Tokayev, in particular, stated that Kazakhstan does not recognize the independence of such “quasi-state territories” as the “DNR” and “LNR”.
