In Kardzhali they report a record number of people willing to vote with mobile ballot boxes

A record number of people want to vote with mobile ballot boxes in Kardzhali. The mobile sections have increased by 1/3 compared to the elections on April 4. Even people with high blood pressure have registered to vote at home and must be visited by a mobile polling station tomorrow, BNT reported.

It is possible to assume, such were the assumptions of the Ministry of Interior, that in this way the voting by machine is bypassed, because in the voting in mobile ballot boxes it is only with paper ballots.

Nearly 258,500 voters have the right to vote in Kardzhali tomorrow, which is a little over 5,000 less than the elections on April 4. There are 545 sections opened in the district. There is one quarantined for Kovid – it is in Krumovgrad and 43 mobile sections for people with limited mobility. This is nearly 8 percent of all sections discovered in the area.

“The number of those who applied to vote with a mobile ballot box this year is significantly higher,” said Velichka Georgieva, chairwoman of the Kardzhali REC.

She refrained from commenting on whether this was a way to manipulate the election with paper ballots.

“I cannot give such an assessment of the circumstances, because under the Electoral Code, according to Article 37, persons who have submitted an application and prove their immobility through TEMC decisions can vote. But in the decision of the Central Commission this norm is extended and they can give other documents certifying their health condition “, said the chairman of the REC – Kardzhali.

People with high blood pressure, diabetes, COPD and asthma are among those willing to vote with a mobile ballot box. Part of the reason for not going to the regular sections is the expected very warm weather tomorrow, the forecast is for 33-35 degrees.

It has been observed since the beginning of the month on average about 80 buses a day to enter Bulgaria through our border checkpoints with Turkey. They are a little more than the days before the April 4th elections, but then there were strict travel and travel bans in Turkey.

This is expected to continue in the coming days, as the holy holiday of Eid al-Adha begins for Muslims at the end of next week.
