Mexico City. “Fight for the Neighborhood 2024. The search for the new wrestling star”, is a program headed by the Youth Institute of Mexico City and supported by La Brigada Dos de Tres Caídas and the AAA Lucha Libre company Worldwide, which aims to promote youth who practice this sport.
The viewings were held at the Utopia Meyehualco of the Iztapalapa mayor’s office, where 160 young people participated and were divided into physical tests, strength, resistance, performance, charisma and connection with the public.

Fight for the Neighborhood 2024
Pridea wrestler originally from Tuxpan, Veracruz, remembers that at the age of 5 at the López Mateos Arena in the State of Mexico, he got into the ring along with other children and jumped from the ropes, when he fell he was applauded by the public and from that moment At that moment, the scream of the people stuck in his mind and he wanted to be a fighter.
“Show people that wrestling today is still latent and living in the hearts of Mexicans,” he commented.
Although the majority of participants were men, women were also present as March16 years old and originally from Ecatepec, state of Mexico, who began practicing wrestling from the age of 10.
“Since I can remember, my dad put the fights on television at lunchtime and from there the taste for wrestling was born. When I start practicing it it becomes my life and now I want to fulfill my dream, which is to be a great fighter and be on big stages,” she said.
Of all the participants, 6 finalists were selected who competed in a final fight to select the 3 places that received a contract from the AAA company and a financial prize.
The winner of “Fight for the Neighborhood” went to the 25-year-old young man from the Tláhuac mayor’s office, Suicide Dragon.
“Since I was a child I always saw the big stars as Mystic and they motivated me to move forward. With effort, dedication and perseverance is what made me get here to fulfill my dream,” he noted.
