“The National Highway Authority of India has successfully completed the Guinness Book of World Records by placing 75 kilometers of continuous asphalt strip in one direction of the state road from Amratati to Akola,” Reuters quoted Indian Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari as saying.

For comparison, in the Czech Republic, the speed of motorway construction averages about 30 kilometers per year. Of course, there is an objection that the Indian highway cannot be compared with the Czech one. Looking at the Reuters video, however, it seems that, except for the width that does not reach European standards in India, the highway built in five days will tolerate the comparison with the Czech one in total. On the other hand, the Indian record does not include the time of construction preparation or landscaping, but only the asphalting of the strip in one direction.
