“All 33 of the defendants identified in the initial investigation report are currently under arrest and no new names have emerged during the investigation,” Chief Police Inspector Dadahari Chaure said.

In the village of Dombivali in the east of the country, a girl was repeatedly raped from January to September 2021 until she reported it to the police. The girl’s first rapist was a person with whom she had a relationship. He threatened the girl to post an intimate video if she resisted repeated sexual assaults, and then distributed the video to his friends and acquaintances. As established by law enforcement officers, the group of criminals includes people aged 20-25, as well as two minors.
Local media have already drawn parallels with the rape of a paramedic student in 2012, which killed her.
