The program of his Breton day has been modified several times. Jean Castex visited the Sulky-Burel farm equipment factory Saturday February 6. This family business established since 1945 in Châteaubourg (Ille-et-Vilaine) has hired eleven apprentices and six young people under 26 thanks to the “One young person, one solution” scheme.

Already three years of work around apprenticeship

This program was launched in August 2020 with aid for the hiring of young people for a total budget of 6.7 billion euros. Alex, 22, has just been hired on a fixed-term contract for after-sales service: “I was unemployed after a project to set up a farm failed for economic reasons. It was a great opportunity.”

Sulky-Burel was not chosen at random by Matignon. We find there more and more apprentices for three years already, thanks to the “Succeeding industry” program in connection with the local mission of the Pays de Vitré. “We welcome a production school inside our factory, a class of 12 apprentices with teachers who come to teach to show concretely the different trades of the company”, Explain Julien Burel, the CEO of the company.

The credits for apprenticeship revised upwards on Monday

Young hires are at the center of Jean Castex’s visit. He is surrounded by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and former regional president, Jean-Yves Le Drian, but also by the Minister of Labor Elisabeth Borne. “There was, and we can salute the historic nature, more than 500,000 young people who signed an apprenticeship contract in 2020”, she welcomed during the round table which concluded the visit. This is 140,000 more than in 2019.

The aid system is a victim of its success: 90,000 bonus files for the hiring of apprentices have not yet been paid by the State. “We are overwhelmed! There are more companies presenting calls for projects than available credits”, launches Jean Castex, before being reassuring: “This is excellent news, not for those who will not be selected, but for those there we will increase the credits on Monday”.

The Prime Minister took the opportunity to launch an appeal to companies that have not yet joined the system. “They have a social responsibility, but they will have it all the more so as they perceive that it is in their interest, and when we make the interest of a country coincide with the interest of its economic actors, we win. the part”, explains Jean Castex with reference to the health crisis.

Dear Pierre Méhaignerie, it is sometimes difficult to be right too soon

The directors of the Rennes start-up Klaxoon and the Super U de Janzé, both also participating in the “One young person, one solution” scheme, attended the round table.

The presence of Pierre Méhaignerie, former deputy and former mayor of Vitré, caught the Prime Minister’s attention. The latter paid tribute to him for the initiative of “employment centers “, created in 2009 in Vitré. “I remember a few years ago, there were precursors, it was called” employment houses “and we did not really think, at the state level, that these were good ideas. In functions that I held, I had received at the time the deputy Pierre Méhaignerie, came to explain to me that the State would do well to be inspired by it. I had been convinced, I had tried to slow down the attempts to put an end to this experience. My dear Pierre, it is sometimes difficult to be right too soon. “
