Helplessness. Faced with the violence of the flames, the effort of 1,000 firefighters is still not enough to channel the two major forest fires that are raging on Thursday July 14, 2022 in Girondeone in Landiras, the other in La Teste-de-Buch.
4,700 hectares of vegetation have already burned. “The wind is always unfavorable and pushes the fire towards a habitable zone”, recognized the prefect of Gironde Fabienne Buccio. “Unfortunately, the fire is getting closer and closer to the houses of Cazaux” for his part affirmed the mayor of La Teste-de-Buch on Facebook.
The 4,000 inhabitants of the town of Cazaux, which depends on La Teste, were forced in the afternoon to evacuate so “preventive”leaving behind their homes and belongings.
