/ world today news/ “Things are tragic in health care”. This was commented by the People’s Representative from BSP LEFT BULGARIA Emil Raynov at a round table on the topic, organized by the chairman of the left group in SOS Milka Hristova and municipal councilor Anna Slavova. The forum is part of the series of discussions held by the BSP City Council in Sofia.
“We know that things in health care are tragic. Moreover, there is already talk of something unprecedented – the unification of state and municipal property. There is no legal basis for such a thing”, said Emil Raynov categorically. According to him, this is why the doctors from the oncology clinic in Blagoevgrad protested. “At the head of this dissatisfaction was the mayor of the city, who is from GERB. And it was he who protested against his minister. What’s going on?” asked the representative. He specified that a large part of these dispensaries, mainly the oncology dispensaries, were equipped with modern equipment under European projects. According to him, the funds from these projects were provided with the condition that in the next 5 years it has no right to change its ownership. “If that happens, he will have to pay the money back. And no one thinks about it. Once again, tension is created among colleagues. At the moment, doctors from all dispensaries are ready for protests,” he said categorically.
Emil Raynov also commented on the unification of 9 hospitals in Sofia. “They gather them in some kind of civil association with some kind of hat. On the one hand, they aim to reduce the administration – they will save money. But on the other hand, they create a new administration and the question arises – who will pay? The answer is that the hospitals will pay again. I.e. the chaos that exists is intensifying more and more,” the deputy added.
The People’s Representative from the BSP drew serious attention to the inability of the Metropolitan Municipality to take advantage of funds from European projects. “The important thing is that the municipal health care can see those European projects for which it could apply for money”, he explained. Emil Raynov pointed out that one project has already passed, which ended sadly: “Stop and examine yourself!” European money for cancer screening. Where was the Sofia municipality? I am focusing on this project, because about a month ago there was a vote for money for screening, but this money could have been provided under European projects allocated for this, they could have gone elsewhere, where it was necessary. We could not use the money from Europe. And now we are taking funds from the budget for this”, he explained.
Emil Raynov also touched on the problem of the lack of opportunities for prophylaxis and prevention. “These things are the closest to people. We all need them so that we don’t have to go to hospitals for active treatment,” he said. Rainov expressed the opinion that there is still a lot to be done in the field of healthcare in the capital. According to This is in the hands of the future municipal council. “We can talk about everything, but the most important thing is what the councilors will decide,” said Rainov “You can have a wonderful idea, if you don’t get the votes to accept it, it remains only a wish. We can make a commitment to implement many things, but we must have a mandate. And the mandate is given by the voter. Let’s all take a more serious approach together. Let’s give a mandate and then demand it,” said Emil Rainov.
