According to him, allowing such high levels of corruption at all levels of state management is already dangerous for its very functioning. Stoynev stated that until now our problem was the ladybugs and the weak administrative capacity, which failed important policies, but we are now bypassing them because of the corruption scandals.
“In Haskovo, a business model came to light, which is the basis of the political rise of GERB. That’s why it hurts them so much”, emphasized Stoinev and added that in his letter to the media, the mayor of Haskovo directly says that the rift came after he canceled tainted contests, after pressure for appointments in the energy sector and in the administration.
According to Stoynev, the mayors of GERB agree or are forced to organize schemes through which networks of companies are fed. These companies are not just working to make a small circle of people, including politicians, rich. They also work on another level – they feed the political power of GERB in places. “Should I recall the huge falsifications of the local elections in 2015. See also who wins the best results in the Roma neighborhoods. Or have the Roma become democrats and right-wing supporters of GERB?” Stoynev asked.
“GERB’s democracy is a bought imitation of democracy. And the BSP group in the parliament is now the only modern force that stands for democracy,” Stoynev said.
He recalled the rehabilitation and the European funds for the large infrastructure projects of the municipalities, which are in the hands of these mayors, and stated that all Bulgarians will pay the rehabilitation loan, with which GERB is preparing to buy another management mandate in the local government.
“At the same time, there is a rejection of reforms in key areas such as health care, education, pension reform. What is going on in the Health Insurance Fund, there is total darkness? Bulgarians die every week because there are refusals of health care and returned patients,” said Stoynev.
According to him, GERB are blocking the work of the parliament by refusing to consider bills of the BSP, they deal only with declarations and exhaust the agenda in minutes. The anti-corruption bill has not yet entered committees, and a number of laws in the social sphere have been blocked.
Stoynev specifically highlighted the Food Bill rejected by GERB and recalled that while we obediently wait for Brussels to regulate us, France, Italy, Spain and Greece have already asked the EC to allow them to put the name of their countries on the labels of their dairy products , and not to write only “Made in the EU.” GERB explained that the same thing that BSP requested for Bulgarian products was impossible, because it was not in accordance with the European requirements for a free market.
GERB want to make a new center of tension
Dragomir Stoynev announced that the BSP will not have its own nominations for chairman and members of the Dossier Commission and will not participate in their selection, and recalled the BSP’s proposal that it be closed and its department taken over by the Institute of National Memory. “GERB want to make a new center of tension – for pressure and periodic spreading of dirt against Bulgarian citizens and public figures, especially during elections. He emphasized that the agenda of Bulgaria and BSP is different – not the past, but unification and work for the future,” he pointed out.
Stoynev defined Anton Todorov’s candidacy as weak, biased, a symbol of politics as a show program, humiliating the institution, offensive to Bulgarian citizens. “Anton Todorov will model the Commission in his own image and likeness – it will become something in between a reality show and a Facebook group with extreme language and yellow stories,” Stoinev also said.
