“Donors, in 2021, we will still need blood to treat the sick. It will take platelets, red blood cells and plasma. By donating your blood, you donate these three components and thus help treat three patients ”. This is the message sent by the French Blood Establishment which, in collaboration with the Association of Volunteer Blood Donors of Guingamp, is organizing a blood drive from Monday 11 to Wednesday 13 January.
600 donations needed every day in Brittany
In the current context, blood collection is more necessary than ever: Brittany needs 600 blood donations each day and France, 10,000. And this, in order to meet the needs during bleeding (childbirth, surgery or accident) or blood diseases and cancer.
This first collection of the year will take place at the Guingamp social center (Camélia room), rue Hyacinthe-Cheval. Donors will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 6.30 p.m., in accordance with the defined health protocol. To note
The Guingampaise association reminds that donors must be between 18 and 70 years old. For a first donation, an identity document will be requested. Other instructions: do not come on an empty stomach and eight weeks, or 56 days, are necessary between two donations.
