In Guadeloupe, the Pointe-à-Pitre hospital overwhelmed by Covid patients

The emergencies of the Pointe-à-Pitre University Hospital have reached saturation point. Reinforcements in metropolitan France do not make up for the lack of beds to cope with the influx of Covid patients. “There are patients who should be in intensive care beds, which are managed in the hospital, but outside the intensive care units which are saturated”, testifies Marc Valette, head of the intensive care unit.
