In Greece, a fire broke out in a migrant camp / Day

No people have been injured in the fire, but at least 150 people have been left homeless, said My Logoteris, head of the Greek Asylum Authority.

The fire at the Vatija Reception and Identification Center started at 4 p.m. in local time.

It is not yet clear what caused the fire.

In total, the camp is home to 400 people, while about 4,200 more people live around it.

The fire destroyed one of the so-called satellite camps, not one of the official sites.

In August, a fire destroyed the Moria camp on the island of Lesbos. In connection with this fire, the prosecutor’s office has accused four Afghan citizens of arson.

At the crisis centers set up in Greece in 2016, officials are conducting an investigation to distinguish between asylum-seekers and economic migrants.
