Germany has halted the third wave of Covid-19, but the incidence is still too high to ease the restrictions en masse. This was announced by the German Minister of Health Jens Span.
Meanwhile, the upper house of the German parliament has backed a bill that eases some restrictions on people vaccinated against Covid-19.
During the week, an average of 125 infections per 100,000 inhabitants were registered in Germany. If this figure were below 100, one could start thinking about easing the restrictions.
However, according to the Minister of Health Span, although the decline is noticeable, there is no reason for frivolity, because in Germany, on average, around 18,000 infections are registered every day, and the situation varies from region to region.
The upper house of the German parliament, the Bundesrat, approved a bill on Friday to ease certain quarantine restrictions for vaccinated or Covid-19 infected people. From Sunday onwards, they will be allowed to disregard curfew and assembly restrictions.
German Justice Minister Kristine Lambrehte called the decision a first step towards restoring normal life, while Berlin Mayor Michael Miller acknowledged that it would be very difficult to control compliance.
