A truck cab exploded in Geleen last night. The driver was seriously injured.

The truck was parked on Kampstraat. A police spokesperson said a gas cylinder may have exploded in the cabin. The driver was transported to the hospital with the helicopter rescue. He’s out of harm’s way, police said.

According to 1Linburgh the explosion could be felt in the area and chaos ensued in the area. The buildings were damaged. The trucks next to the exploded vehicle were also damaged.

Police are still investigating whether a crime was committed in the incident.
