In Front of the Ministers, Jokowi: Oops, So dangerous!

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) again reminded his staff that the current global conditions are experiencing a crisis, especially in the health and economic fields.

Therefore, the head of state asked all his staff to have sense of crisis the same and work even harder, as quoted by the official statement of the Presidential Secretariat.

“If we are not horrified and consider this mediocre, oh my, it is very dangerous,” Jokowi said when chairing a limited meeting Tuesday, as quoted Wednesday (07/08/2020).

“Shopping is also mediocre, spending we are mediocre, there is no acceleration, “he said.

Jokowi stressed that the predictions of the world economy were also less encouraging. According to information received from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the global economic contraction is predicted to reach minus 6 to 7.6 percent.

The economic contraction was experienced by Indonesia in the first quarter, where Indonesia’s economic growth was at 2.97%, down from 5%.

Although the figures in the second quarter have not yet come out, the former Governor of DKI Jakarta reminded his staff to be careful considering there was a decrease in demand, supply, and production.

“From demand, supply, production, everything, disturbed and damaged. We also have to understand and be aware of this. Because of what? Yes we limit the mobility. Mobility is restricted, tourism has plummeted. Mobility is restricted, hotels and restaurants immediately plummeted, disrupted. The mall is closed, lifestyle plummeted, disturbed, “he stressed.
