The Ministry of Economic Development could not believe his eyes: in four minutes the grants for the protection of brands were pulverized. On 30 September, the companies produced requests for the registration and protection of trademarks, including on foreign markets. The 4 million euros made available were all committed with four turns of clock hands. The companies submitted the application by acquiring the online facilitation protocol to the Marchi + 3 measure in order to obtain non-repayable contributions of 80%. The Ministry of Economic Development has refinanced this program of subsidies to companies to favor the registration of trademarks in the European Union and internationally.
The companies had two possibilities to register the trademarks and obtain economic benefits. The first measure granted facilities to facilitate the registration of trademarks at the European Union Intellectual Property Office. The other measure allowed for facilities to facilitate the registration of international trademarks with the World Intellectual Property Organization. Both measures mean purchases of specialized services.
The requirements
The companies to obtain the subsidy declared that they are micro, small or medium-sized enterprises with registered and operational headquarters in Italy. Furthermore, the companies declared that they had paid the taxes. In the announcement, the Ministry specified an important aspect: companies with ongoing administrative proceedings could not be admitted to the concessions. The same can be said for companies subject to revocation actions for undue receipt of public resources.

The companies obtained a non-repayable grant of up to 6 thousand euros for the application relating to a trademark filed with the EUIPO. For the registration of international trademarks, the recognized contribution is up to 7 thousand euros. The resources are gone now.
