Problems continue in the capital due to the lack of sufficient stock to cover the demand for Pfizer vaccines, the only one approved for adolescents who are in the process of vaccination. From Maipú and La Florida, harshly criticize Enrique Paris and the Government.
Hundreds of people arrived this Tuesday at the main vaccination center in Maipú, which is next to the commune square, to inoculate themselves according to the indications that the Ministry of Health and that it guaranteed the doses to certain groups.
During this week, they will only be inoculated second dose of those who were vaccinated from June 28 to July 4; as well as adolescents between 12 and 17 years old with specific comorbidities and pregnant women from 16 weeks of gestational age.
However, dozens of people arrived at the vaccination center who during the previous days had not been able to get vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine due to its stock failure and that, as the day stipulated for them had already passed, they were treated as laggards and therefore they were not going to be vaccinated.
The situation became complex because the lines were very long, but progressively they were diminishing with the passing of the day.
Asked about what had happened to people who did not have priority to inoculate, the mayor of Maipú, Thomas VodanovicHe pointed out that they had made a request to the Ministry of Health, but the answer came only this morning.
The problem that the communal chief accuses is not new for other authorities, since they assure that they cannot carry out vaccination programs if They do not know if the next day they will have doses. Moreover, they say that every day they receive a different number of vaccines that in some occasions may be less than the one that had been anticipated.
They shoot at Piñera and Paris
Another mayor who thinks in a similar way is Rodolfo Carter Florida, who assured that the responsibility to understand these situations lies with the Ministry of Health, which does not decant or make the information transparent as it should.
The communal chief also referred to the comments of Minister Enrique Paris, who responded to his criticism with the phrase “it almost makes me want to do a joke, But I’m not going to do it. The claims clearly come from people closely linked to electoral issues, but the truth is that there have been delays ”.
To this, Carter declared that “the minister dedicated himself to humor, an unusual, grotesque thing at the moment we are living ”.
Carter added that Paris owes the Chileans an apology noting that the charge was too big for him given the problems that have been experienced with regard to vaccination.
As reported by Chilevisión, in the vaccination center located in the Bicentennial Stadium, canvases were installed where the president is held responsible. Sebastian Piñera for the non-vaccination of the laggards, given the threat of summaries to the municipalities that do not adhere to the calendar.
