Of the total amount of exported beverages, 90.4% was exported, mainly to Russia, but 9.6% was sent to other European Union (EU) member states.
Exports of alcoholic beverages from Latvia in the five months of 2020 have decreased by 5.5%. In the five months of this year, a total of 58.707 million liters of alcoholic beverages were exported, but in the five months of 2019 – 62.136 million liters.
6.25 million liters of alcoholic beverages were shipped to other EU member states in the first five months of this year, which is 18% less than in the five months of 2019, when 7.624 million liters were shipped.
It has already been reported that in the first five months of this year, 20.156 million liters of alcoholic beverages, excluding beer, were produced in Latvia, and compared to the five months of 2019, 7.1% less alcoholic beverages were produced in the first five months of 2020.
