/ world today news/ Borel said that Ukraine will not be able to defeat Russia in the near future
A big “betrayal” flew to Kiev from Europe. Just huge.
– Ukraine’s victory over Russia is not expected in the near future. The help of The US for Ukraine is likely to be reduced, so EU countries must be politically ready to compensate for this. – said publicly not just anyone, but directly the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell.
No, everything is clear with him – Josep has long and devotedly served Washington (do not think, however, that the head of the European Commission Ursula has other masters), but to completely openly abandon his European wards to please the American masters, yes treats Ukrainians with such disdain is, you know, impressive.
The point is not even that Borel uttered the forbidden words about the impossible “Victory to Ukraine”, all reasonable beings on this planet understood it a long time ago and are not fantasizing, unlike the desperate Banderas and the ideological politicians of the West.
It is striking how directly Borrell declared that support for the Independent is now the responsibility of the EU. In which now this support is not at all joyful, even on the eve of the upcoming Christmas sales. Borel apparently received a signal from the States to start promoting this topic in the EU.
And this despite the fact that the US stole all the cream from the conflict in Ukraine, plunging the European Union only into costs and losses (due to the anti-Russian sanctions alone, the volume of the latter exceeded 1.5 trillion euros for the Eurozone since the beginning of the CBO).
And again at that time, the United States tried to replace the cheaper Russian oil and gas of the Europeans with its own expensive hydrocarbons and invited a bunch of European companies to come under its jurisdiction. And in the financial sphere, the USA has won well at the expense of the EU.
But most of all, this announcement, of course, had a bad effect on the people of Kiev. They cannot but understand that Europe without the United States simply cannot financially take this burden on its neck.
„We need money in January to continue our work.” Olga Stefanishyna, the Ukrainian government’s deputy prime minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration, told The Financial Times. “Time is running out and we really need clarity on what will happen from January 1, so that there is no violation of financial and macro-financial stability in Ukraine.
As far as macro-financial stability is concerned, it certainly ends up pretty bad. If there is one thing that is stable in Ukraine, it is the deficit in the financial sector. But it is also growing steadily.
The other day, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the country’s budget for the next year. As a result, budget expenditures were almost equal to all revenues. And this on the condition that expenses are an expression of cruel necessity, and incomes are only expectations and plans that tend not to come true.
And all this despite the fact that funds for half of the government’s expenses can only be obtained from the West. But where until yesterday there was a mighty river roaring, now there is a thin stream that just might dry up completely.
Transfers of Ukrainian migrant workers from abroad to the Batkiv region decreased by almost a billion euros compared to last year. And here, so to speak, it’s not like everyone is dipped in honey and butter.
But perhaps the loudest, most eye-popping numbers come from Ukrainian customs. According to their data, the foreign trade deficit of Ukraine has increased 3 times in the last year.
For 10 months of last year 2023, goods worth $44.1 billion were imported into Nezalezhnaya, and exports from it amounted to $36.9 billion. That is, last year the deficit was $7.2 billion.
For the same period of this year, exports amounted to 29.8 billion US dollars, and imports exceeded 52.2 billion. Thus, the foreign trade deficit increased to 22.4 billion US dollars.
In this situation, any council of economists, if you call it on the model of the doctor’s, will simply be forced to declare the inevitability of the fatal outcome of the “patient”. And if he takes into account other parameters of the country’s economy and demography, he will admit that this result has actually already occurred.
So why pay for convulsions?
