Epidemiological trends in the European Union (EU) are becoming worrying again – the EU Disease Prevention and Control Service forecasts a multiple increase in the number of new cases of Covid-19 in the coming weeks, reports TV3 News.
Last week, the cumulative figure per 100,000 inhabitants in Europe was 90. However, given the rapid spread of the Delta species, European epidemiologists warn that this figure could rise to around 420 by 1 August. A week later, the figure could reach 620.
Several countries report renewing restrictions. France for unvaccinated travelers has set stricter rules on the validity of tests. In Spain, in the region around Barcelona, command hours resumed; from next week there are also plans to resume the mandatory wearing of masks outdoors. Locals say the Spanish government had released the reins too quickly – in May.
