In Finland, firefighters are fighting the largest forest fire in at least half a century, which has destroyed an area of ​​about 300 hectares in a few days.

The fire broke out this week south of the small port town of Gulf of Bothnia in Kalajoki. It may take at least a week to completely erase it.

Also in Greece, about 300 firefighters on Sunday, August 1, continue to fight a large forest fire near the city of Patras in the northern Peloponnese. At least eight people have been injured.

A wave of severe heat is continuing in Greece, and people with problems caused by the heat are also being admitted to hospitals. In recent days, the air temperature in some places has risen to 43 degrees Celsius.
