Mysterious metal objects have been washed up on Tallinn’s popular Pikakari beach for a long time. Many of these special metal objects have been found in the beach sand, and their origin has not yet been clarified.

The authorities promise the country’s public broadcasting company ERR that the objects are not dangerous. Based on the pictures, the objects are possibly aluminum and come in different sizes. According to ERR, many are so light that they can float. In shape, they often resemble some kind of hooks.

– Last summer there were a lot of them and they looked bigger than now, one beachgoer told ERR.

– There are unknown metal objects floating in the water at Pikakari, ERR writes in X.

According to the Estonian Environmental Agency, the scrap metal in Pikakari was first discussed six years ago. Although objects have been found for a long time, the matter has not been officially taken into account before.

Only now have the authorities become interested in solving this mystery. The Environmental Agency and the beach maintenance staff have started collecting pieces of metal from the seawater.

– I believe that these are the remains of metal that fell into the sea in the coastal area years ago, which the sea is only now washing ashore, the Environmental Agency Tarmo Tehva said to ERR.

However, he could not judge whether the metal scrap fell from a passing ship or whether the scrap came from an accident.

– Divers are needed to see what’s at the bottom. It is currently unknown where exactly it came from.
