In Dubai, artificial rain caused artificial heat

In Dubai, struggling with the heat of almost +50 degrees, artificial rain has been created using drones that send electric charges in the clouds to merge together and form precipitation.

Heavy rainfall, which creates difficult driving conditions and unexpected waterfalls on the road slopes. Such views are quite common in Southeast Asia, and officials have also managed to achieve this in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at a time when the temperature bar there has risen to +48.8 degrees Celsius.

According to the UAE National Metrology Center, heavy rainfall has been achieved through artificial cloud formation. To prevent declining rainfall in the country, in 2017 the UAE invested $ 15 million (€ 12.7 million) in nine different rainfall projects.

By giving the clouds electric shocks, water droplets can coalesce and become large enough to fall to the ground in the form of rain.

Cloud creation was already invented in the 1940s, when scientists discovered that shooting chemicals such as silver iodide or salt from aircraft could contribute to rain and snow in drier areas.

It was later used by US troops as an experimental method of warfare, but it was later recognized that the silver iodide used in this method posed a risk of poisoning to marine life. In addition, this technique can also contribute to rising water temperatures and disrupt the marine natural environment during the already difficult times of climate change.

The formation of electric clouds in Dubai is considered to be more favorable, as no chemicals are used, thus not endangering nature and its inhabitants.
