Torreón, Coahuila de Zaragoza.- The Honorary President of DIF Coahuila, Marcela Gorgón Carrillo, affirmed that the tasks of prevention and timely detection of cancer, as well as support for people who fight against this disease, is a permanent task in Coahuila.
He highlighted that the State DIF, through the “Join, Let’s Check You” and “With You in Cancer Care” programs, reaches all municipalities in the state to raise awareness about the importance of preventing bad habits that promote this disease, as well and to carry out tests periodically to, where appropriate, detect it in a timely manner and support those who fight against this disease.
This work is added to the programs and actions implemented by the Governor of the State, Miguel Ángel Riquelme Solís, through the State Ministry of Health in terms of providing comprehensive care against cancer.
“In Coahuila, the State Government, the Municipal DIF Systems and civil society organizations, we are a great team to support those who are experiencing this battle in a coordinated manner. People know that they are not alone, that we are with them and they, ”he highlighted.
Gorgón Carrillo explained that through the “Join, Let’s Check You” program, more than 4,700 breast examinations and more than 9,200 colposcopy, papanicolaou and HPV studies have been carried out in the mobile units of DIF Coahuila.
In addition to this, more than 4,700 prostate screening studies have been carried out.
In the same way, 431 prevention talks have been held throughout the state, he said.
Regarding the “With You in Cancer Care” program, he reported that more than 740 supports have been provided in studies and medicines, among others.
In addition to this task, Marcela Gorgón said that together with civil society, 4 state Caps Collections have been carried out for the benefit of civil society organizations that care for children with cancer, to whom more than 22 tons of donations, which are transformed into resources for studies, treatments and medicines for patients.
A few days ago, he indicated, the Fourth Edition of said collection concluded, and he affirmed that donations will soon be delivered to the organizations: Club Rotarac Emprendedor Poniente Piedras Negras AC; Sabinas AC Lions Club; the Luis Tijerina AC Smile Association; Girls and Boys with AC Leukemia; YUYE Martinez AC; Fighting for Little Angels AC; Hug me AC; Uncover a Hope, and Let’s Turn on an AC Light.
