Due to Covid-19 cases, two schools in Daugavpils will temporarily study remotely.
The remote work at Daugavpils Technology Secondary School-Lyceum is scheduled for the end of this week, October 30. The school will use several platforms for communication and online lessons.
Students of Daugavpils Secondary School No. 10 have also started distance learning. Such an educational learning model is planned until November 6, according to a statement on the institution’s website.
The Board of Education is authorized to decide on the choice of the study model in the city. The head of the institution Marina Isupova revealed that in the 10th secondary school the disease was detected both for teachers and students of several classes. At the lyceum, the virus hit teachers.
At the end of the week, it will be decided how the teaching process will take place in the lyceum next week. It is possible that the youngest students will be able to resume full-time studies.
According to the data of the Center for Disease Prevention and Control, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Daugavpils in the last two weeks is 180 people.
It has already been reported that after the autumn holidays, from today, full-time studies are carried out only for 1st-6th grade students, while 7th-12th grade students will study remotely, according to the amendments adopted by the government on 13 October to limit the spread.
This decision was taken in order to reduce the rapid deterioration of the epidemiological situation and not to contribute to the further spread of the disease in educational institutions.
