We must believe that the town of Lux, 500 inhabitants northeast of Dijon had a predestined name. It was chosen by “EDF-Renouvelable” to accommodate a fleet of 22,700 solar panels.
EDF needs 185 thousand euros to make ends meet. The operator is therefore launching a call for funding. A call reserved initially for the inhabitants of the community of communes of the Tille and Ignon valleys. You have to put 100 euros minimum, and the key is the promise of a return on investment. This must earn 4 to 6% interest on a placement that lasts 4 and a half years.
This crowdfunding goes through Lendosphere internet platform. It will be open for two months, from Monday December 14 to February 14.
How it works ? We asked Laure Verarghe, the co-founder of Lendosphere.
The collection, set at € 185,000, will be reserved for residents of the Community of municipalities of the Tille and Ignon valleys from December 14 to December 30. Then from December 30 until February 14 to the inhabitants of the implantation and neighboring departments: Côte-d’Or, Aube, Jura, Haute-Marne, Nièvre, Haute-Saône, Saône-et-Loire, Yonne.
The mayor of the town is enthusiastic
The solar panels will extend over two land of 4 hectares 3 km from the village. Renaud Lehman the mayor of Lux sees only advantages. “It will remain invisible from the village, and it is indeed the least polluting energy in my opinion for producing electricity. It is important to get involved.”
These solar panels should earn 35 thousand euros per year to the community of municipalities, and provide energy for nearly 22 thousand households.
