How does it work when you want to create a business? We put the question to Stella Buerick, economic manager at the Chamber of Trades.
France Bleu Bourgogne: how does this influx of requests translate? Is it linked to the economic recovery?
Stella Buerick : This translates to visits from people with a slightly different professional project, who wish to create a business. The most promising sectors are nevertheless often transport, delivery and also construction.
What drives people to get started, to create their own business?
It can be so many things. It can be a personal life project. It can be an opportunity. Meeting someone at a difficult time who will make you want to take over their business, for example. But it will also be, at the moment, opportunities linked to the end of a CDD. The end of an interim mission. The health crisis which also allowed us to ask ourselves many questions and to reshuffle the cards of our professional project.
Do you have the feeling that the crisis has changed the situation?
It made it possible to push certain doors a little faster when we wanted to change jobs, because there we had time to think about it!
You have information sessions coming up on December 16 and 23 to give the first tips. What are you going to tell the candidates?
So these are small training sessions that last two days, which allow us to advise project leaders. It is mainly aimed at future micro-entrepreneurs. So these are small individual businesses with a somewhat specific tax and social system, a little more simplified. And so, the idea of these two days of training is to help them understand what their daily life will be, their obligations in terms of invoicing, in terms of social declarations, to play down all this language a little bit. has around the business and that is not always common to everyone. When we talk about VAT, taxation, then everything else. All these acronyms that we hear like SCSI, Urssaf, we explain all that a little.
If you had one final tip to help people take the plunge, what would it be?
Come to the Chamber of Trades, we will talk about it together!
