Beijing: The cases of mysterious pneumonia in China have apparently been triggered by a new type of coronavirus. As the Chinese state television reported, this has been shown by investigations. The experts were therefore able to identify the full gene sequence in one patient. The virus shows the typical morphology of a corona virus and has been confirmed in 15 other patients. According to official information, 59 people have contracted pneumonia in the central Chinese metropolis of Wuhan, seven of them in critical condition. Corona viruses can cause common colds, but also serious respiratory diseases like Sars. In 2003, 800 people worldwide died from a Sars epidemic.
