In Chile the right proposes a wall on the border with Bolivia

(ANSA) – SANTIAGO, CHILE, 02 MAY – “Chile must secure its border with Bolivia to curb the entry of irregular migrants with a physical separation such as a wall or barrier”. This was said by the leader of the Republican Party and former presidential candidate, Felipe Kast, returning from an ultra-right meeting in Hungary. In the context of the insecurity crisis that is affecting the country and a few days after the murder of three agents in an ambush, according to Kast, the construction of a wall along the over 800 km of border with Bolivia, in the north of the country, has also become “a top priority project for Chile”. “Nine years ago Hungary was going through a serious problem due to illegal immigration and took a tough but effective decision to close the border with Serbia. Today Hungarians are safer and do not have to face the political, economic and social consequences of this phenomenon,” he added. Regarding the killing of the three agents which occurred in the Araucania area, in the south of the country, President Gabriel Boric does not exclude the hypothesis of a terrorist act. “An action of these characteristics has terrorist connotations,” he said. “This makes us understand that criminal groups continue to operate and must be completely dismantled,” he added.
