A woman had entrenched herself in her home located rue de Marchienne in Jumet around 9am this Sunday. Around 2 p.m., the police finally managed to enter the house. The woman may have been arrested.
It is a 45 year old woman. It is bipolar. She has been looking after her granddaughter since Sunday evening. This morning, when her daughter came to pick up the child, the lady seemed very agitated and exhibited a weapon. Her daughter was scared and buried.
The police have been notified. First there was an intervention by the Charleroi police support service. Special units were then called in for reinforcement because of the potential presence of weapons and the agitated state of the lady.
After several hours of negotiations with the police, the resident of Jumet ajar the door, which allowed the units to rush into the house. She was taken by ambulance after being injured in the foot by a broken glass. She had barricaded herself in the house and several objects were knocked down, which explains her injury. According to the prosecution, she was easily arrested and was not injured during the arrest.
