The remains of a Tyrannosaurus rex with two baby dinosaurs in its stomach were found in Canada. An article about this appeared in a scientific journal Science Advances December 8th.
Scientists discovered a fossil in Alberta. “The age of the sample itself is about 75.3 million years. While studying it, we discovered that two individuals were preserved in the stomach of the tyrannosaurus. They are small bird-like dinosaurs belonging to the species Citipes elegans,” said Darla Zelenitskaya, assistant professor of dinosaur paleobiology at the University of Calgary.
According to the expert, the discovery shows that young tyrannosaurs hunted small dinosaurs roaming alone, while older individuals attacked entire groups and ate large herbivorous dinosaurs that lived in herds.
